Firefox webcam compatibility

Screen + webcam works in Firefox using a compatibility mode. Keep this Screenio tab visible while recording so the webcam overlay keeps updating. Screen-only and screen + mic are not affected. For the most reliable background webcam overlay, use Chrome or Edge.

Is Screenio free to use?

Yes. The current browser recorder can be used without creating an account or installing software.

Are my recordings uploaded?

No. The current version processes the recording locally in your browser and makes the file available for local preview and download.

Can Screenio record microphone and webcam?

Yes. Choose the screen, webcam and microphone mode, then approve the permissions requested by your browser.

Does screen + webcam work in Firefox?

Yes. Firefox uses a compatibility mode for the webcam overlay, so keep the Screenio tab visible while recording. Screen-only and screen + mic are not affected.

Does Screenio save MP4 files?

Screenio uses MP4 when the browser supports native MP4 recording. Otherwise, it downloads a WebM file.
